Personal Transformation notes: Springtime

I know I have been a little invisible lately. So much transformation going on that I sometimes feel like a hermit crab who has to hunt for a new shell every week! Bob and I are great…a few minor glitches as is always the case when you’re growing, but overall healthy, happy, and enjoying being the grandparents of 4 lovely girls. The oldest turns 6 in a few weeks. We get to babysit (Bob and I as a team, I tell you…they are a handful!), garden with them, and get/give lots of hugs. We are still traveling, but shorter trips…you’ll see why in a minute.

I am working hard to get my online courses up and running. The first one, SoulPath Alchemy 1, is set to begin June 20. After taking time off to re-group (it’s been almost 4 years since we downsized QuietStar!), some days I’m not sure I’m up to it. As you might remember, I thought I was “retiring”, till I had my own wake-up call with election results that weren’t to my liking! There is a lot to learn about online technology and online community-building. But then I remember how much I love teaching and there’s that whole bit about listening to guidance and living my SoulPath!! And it’s amazing what great results I have when I use my tools.

What I’ve discovered is that anytime it feels like “too much work” or I get frustrated, underneath it all is that I am trying to operate in a vacuum; doing too much of it myself. If I remember to ask my Spirit Partners for help, and allow myself to RECEIVE it, things go a lot smoother. Nothing like doing MY job and letting them do theirs!

And, it really helps to have support. I have a new mentor: Minette Riordan, who I worked with at Cascade School and a coach for Creative Entrepreneurs. She is really helping me rein in all my ideas and navigate the online world. Thanks Minette for holding my hand so we can make this happen!

“Lumination”: a new Glyph!

I am really excited about a whole new generation of SoulPath Alchemy Glyphs. This one is called “Lumination”. As I was creating it, I could feel this really light, joyous energy.

I was asked to create a series of Glyphs for the upcoming Open Studios Art Tour, and I found myself going back to Pastels on Watercolor; the way I create them for Personal Consultations. I love the Simplicity and the Power of this new series.

Spring Ceremony for the Vernal Equinox

The Spring (Vernal) Equinox is a time to plant seeds for the coming year. In 1990, I did ceremony with my partner, asking the Spirit of the Land where we lived (California) to connect us with the Spirit of the Land in Hawaii. Within one week, he had a job there and was on a plane! I followed soon after, and we had a magical time living and working there. In fact, it was there that we created the first HigherSelf Course and the first incarnation of QuietStar.

Naming Ceremony for my art

Getting ready for the Print show at Art Central San Luis Obispo, I have 3 mono-prints that I am really excited about. But, alas, they have no names! A friend looked at me like I’d lost my mind, and said “Just meditate!”. Oh, yeah, that! Then I heard a little whisper inside: “a naming ceremony…”.

I used my invocation and listened. Funny, I didn’t even have them in front of me, but I heard “Luv is Everywhere!”, took a deep breath, “Waves of Grace”, then “Blooming Love”. It’s so great when I remember to use my intuitive tools instead of my mind.

What is SoulPath Alchemy™ Transformational Art?

People have been asking me about my process as I create my art. So here it is…

My art is intuitive. Rather than trying to put a “realistic” picture on canvas, I start from a feeling or an energy pattern. My paintings/photographs/mixed media pieces are SoulPath Alchemy Glyphs™…. each designed as an energy template to help you align with and manifest your Soul’s deepest longings; your life mission.

The work has evolved over the years. Formerly a sound and energy healer, I would create little mandalas on paper for clients and students to take home with them, to ground and re-inforce the changes and new intentions.

Over time, these evolved into paintings, collages, cards and more.

Each piece starts with a feeling. Sometimes I see shapes and colors in my mind. Sometimes the materials (paint, paper, stamp, found objects) call me. As I work, I feel the transmutation as a variety of energies surge through me.

I am guided through the process. Starting from a feeling I am experiencing or a situation in the world that I am aware of, I paint the first layer. Then sit in meditation, and wait for the nod to start the second layer. And so on. These are transformative in nature; shifting the energy generally from a lower frequency (vibration) to a higher one. As I work to transform “negative” or “lower” energies, I can feel the shifts radiate out into the Universe. At times, I receive additional downloads of sound, words or suggestions, and record those through the appropriate media. Some pieces come directly from my Guides and the Ascended Masters. In a meditative state, I receive energetic downloads. As I translate into form, color and texture, additional guidance is received.

SoulPath Alchemy Glyphs™ (www.ElainaGeltner.com/Glyphs) are energetic templates created specifically for a particular person, business or place. Although these are sometimes simpler symbols created with pastels or markers, some take weeks or months to bring into form. Each piece is created for someone (although I usually do not know who), and it’s really fun to see what happens when the “owner” shows up.

Finding Flora

Yesterday I asked on Flora Bowley’s FB page where to see her art “in person” since I am visiting Portland. And the Universe answered! I wandered into Back to Eden Bakery and looked up…

“Isn’t that Flora’s?” I asked myself. Yep…her signature! After inquiring where else to see her work, I arrived next door to see the wall mural that I had “watched” her paint in an Instagram video.

I love the Serendipity!! And thank you Flora Bowley, for all of your inspiration over the years. (I took the BloomsTrue E-course as part of expanding my art!).

My Summer Art Intensive surprises me!

I’m so grateful! This summer I’ve learned so much about my craft. Feeling an urge to take my Art to a new level, I asked for a teacher. Then I went about completing, completing, completing (all the other projects)…as I knew I must.

One afternoon, I was hunkered down in my studio, enjoying the quiet of meditation. I noticed on my calendar a presentation at the Central Coast Watercolor Society, and thought “No, I’m stayin’ home.” From deep within came a suggestion to re-c0nsider. I re-read the description and knew I had to go. And I’m sure glad I did!

I walk in to see canvases that I wish I had created. Then she begins to speak…”It’s all about transformation for me. Transforming materials, and the transformation of the people who look at my art.” What a match, eh??? That’s just what I live for. And she is teaching a bunch of classes over the next few months. She goes on to talk about found objects, re-purposing discarded stuff, etc. “She” is Janice Pluma, (http://www.janicepluma.com/), mixed media artist from Atelier108 in Paso.

Since then, I’ve been averaging one of her workshops every 10 days all summer. What an amazing experience! She has helped me profoundly expand my ability to get the energy I feel inside, onto the canvas. From a class called “Fusing and Melting”, to “Adding Texture” and so many more, I have been in heaven! I keep trying to put up videos so you can share my joy…but I’ve been too busy painting, cutting, gluing, melting, and rusting stuff. And, I get to hang out with ARTISTS! What more could a girl ask for as a summer program?!?

Finding the Light: A Clinic for the stuck ones. Our Annual Halloween Workshop
Sunday, October 29. 1-4 pm. For many years, I have offered this clinic to assist the lost souls to return to the Light. At the time of Halloween, the veils thin, making access to this energy easier. If you feel compassion for those who are “stuck”, join us to learn some safe techniques to assist them in moving to the Light. No experience necessary; costumes make the whole thing more fun, if you are feeling it! $65.

Oh, sweetgrass, you make me so happy!

This morning the Sweetgrass called to me…time to harvest. It’s one of my favorite ceremonies. By the time I was finished, I was filled with the sweetness that it brings. And grateful to be the steward of these beautiful plants.

Now it rests on the altar, as it is calibrated and infused with the frequencies of gently transformation. Available at Open Studios.

Stepping out as an Artist! Open Studios Art Tour October 21-22

I promised to tell you what’s next…and here it is. I’ve been painting and creating some new workshops: using the Art Process to transmute energy! The other day I woke up and realized “I’m an artist!” It’s funny how that happened…I just kept following my bliss, listening to my heart, and pretty soon I was signed up for Open Studios! For the first time ever, I will present SoulPath Mixed Media at the SLO County Open Studios Tour on October 21-22. If you want to come by for a preview, I will open my garden studio to visitors on Oct 11 and 18 (10-12noon). Come by, say hi, and see what I’m up to.

NOTE NEW location. In the Garden at 1248 Monterey (at Johnson) in MoJo district of San Luis Obispo. Behind Body and Balance physical therapy center. Open by appointment or scheduled events only.
