Harvest the Magic of the Halloween season
#19 in our series: Hints for Being YourSelf (HFBYS)

October 31st: Rich tradition, modern application
Using the cycles of the Earth to assist in transformation goes way back in history. Halloween is a time of year that has been celebrated in many cultures from ancient times to now. The most dominant festival from the past carried forward into today’s culture is the Celtic holiday of Samhain: the recognition of an ending of the planting/growing year with a harvest. As Winter approaches, the plants die and so no longer produce the renewal of Spring and the bounty of Summer. As souls in human bodies, we are best served to be in harmony with the Earth Cycles.
In the Druid tradition, Samhain celebrates the dead with a festival on October 31 and usually features a bonfire and communion with dead ancestors. In more recent years the Latin American Day of the Dead, which actually occurs the day after Halloween, has become an integral part of our culture through art, music, dance and festival.
During the months of September, October and November when the veils between the physical world and the higher realms are extremely thin, we have better access to the “unseen” realms. For Halloween in 2020, there is an extraordinary synergy: We have the full moon in Taurus, a blue moon and Halloween all occurring on the same day.
In SoulPath Alchemy™, we use this season to:
- deepen the connection to Spirit Guides, Ascended Masters and Angels.
- honor the legacy left by those who have gone before
- harvest the fruits of our work over the last year
- release that which no longer serves
- be anything we want! (thanks, inner child!)
Want to be of Service? Sensitive people are more likely to feel the presence of those who have left the physical world during this time. Elaina has been creating “clinics” to assist lost souls to find the Light for over 20 years. We do NOT recommend trying this at home if you haven’t been trained. You might want to join us at our annual Halloween retreat to learn about how to do this safely and effectively. With the assistance of the Spirit of QuietStar, we will create a safe and sacred space where you can learn about assisting lost souls, who are stuck in the Earth Plane, to cross over into the Higher Realms.
More about the Full “Blue” Moon: The moon, a feminine symbol universally representing the depths of the unconscious and the potent and powerful inward, intuitive, and sacred. It provides a way to connect more deeply with ourselves. A Full Moon is a time to harness this energy when the moon is directly opposite the Sun providing a yin-yang balance of universal energy.
The Blue Moon is used colloquially to mean a rare event as in the phrase “once in a blue moon”! Even though, when you look at this moon, you may not “see” a blue tint, recall that this is the color of serenity, stability, inspiration and wisdom. Blue often symbolizes calmness and reliability.
Through Esoteric Astrology we can all learn about the effects of this illumination on our terrestrial lives and bask in the light of our new understanding. This is a perfect time to tap into this beautiful enlightening energy.
For an added bonus, engage the (magical) Inner Child. As we approach Halloween, a time of magical transformations with costumes, masks, parties, candy and scary delights, the Inner Child is truly engaged. It is our child part who chooses our costume. It is our child aspect who wants the jack-o-lantern carved a certain way and who determines how scary the decorations and spooky delights can be. A collaboration with your Inner Child can result in amplification of the magic available to you at this time of the year.
