“Be YourSelf: Everyone Else is Already Taken!”
As each year comes to a close, it’s so important to gather all that we harvested, appreciate all that we’ve done, and then till the chaff back into the soil so that it can enrich what we will be planting in the Spring. Although as a culture, we spend a lot of time socializing, shopping and celebrating during the darkest time of the year, our bodies want to hibernate. By consciously acknowledging the dark, we allow ourselves to regroup for the return of the light.
At Winter Solstice, we have to opportunity to create a personal ceremony where we begin to accumulate the energies we need to nurture that which we want to plant in the spring.
What to do? Here are some suggestions:

Create a Winter Solstice Ceremony to mark the beginning of the gathering of the energy inside, beneath the surface. I’ve been doing this for many years. Check out my winter solstice ceremony suggestions here:
Go out in nature and visit deciduous trees. They have shed their leaves and are putting all their energy into their roots. See what you can learn through observation. You might be able to learn from them, by sensing the energy of hibernation that they are holding.
Plant a bulb indoors and watch it begin to sprout, even in the darkest time of the year. It’s not quite the natural way; but it brings hope that you, too, will again emerge! Find the alchemical formula here
