A Girl’s Just Gotta Have Fun! Outrageous Self-Care #4
I’m being really good. I’ve put new course offerings on hold so I can shore up the infrastructure and clear the pathway of outdated stuff, paper, ideas, digital files. I’m doing all that WORK, but I don’t really LIKE that stuff. I’m really good at spinning it…”it will feel really good to clear it all out”. “It’s important to have a structure in place that supports reaching for the stars.” “This is what responsible entrepreneurs do”. Ya-da-ya-da-ya-da.
But the dominant part of me that likes NEW stuff and adventure was chomping at the bit! The Theremin kept calling me. I kept saying I need to WORK…leave me alone.
During a client session a couple weeks ago, I brought through some cool info about a group of SoundHealers from Atlantis and what we were up to. The tools we used were being described…”crystal bowls, a bit different from now but the same idea; an instrument like a Theremin..” WHAT!?!?! I’ve always wanted one of those! I guess that’s why I recognized it the first time I saw and heard it.
I’d looked into them before, but this time, I couldn’t stop myself. Who needs infrastructure when one could be shopping for a theremin??? [Well, I do, but that’s not the point of this story]
Now, you also know I always want the one that’s “just right”, so I did a lot of research. I spent 2 weeks looking locally for one I could get my hands on. But that didn’t pan out, so Bob and I watched LOTS of videos online. And I got a lot done in the infrastructure/clearing department because I rewarded myself with time watching videos and researching.
And, finally, I ordered an entry-level version from the Burns family. As an added bonus, I actually had an email exchange with one of the family members in the company. So I get to support another one of my values: supporting small business. I also connected with a couple theremin artists who were so helpful. I’m so grateful that I have the tools to turn my obsession into motivation! Alchemy at its finest.
So, it arrives tomorrow, the tracking says, and I’m waiting patiently. Stay tuned for MY theremin video!!
