The sun entered the sign of Cancer (June 21-July 22) at the Summer Solstice so energy is blooming for the next few months, with an opportunity to choose the essences you wish to cultivate.  All this happens during the shadow (“leftovers”) of Mercury Retrograde so you will sense reluctance to make choices as you feel the hesitancy of the pulling back/opposing energy.

The symbol of the Crab for this sign can be confusing because an observation of a crab in nature suggests their scuttling back and forth indicates indecision, and their apparent constant feeding is a limited focus on survival, not on transformation.  However, if you watch more closely, the Crab is the height of discernment, moving from energy source to energy source, looking for the compatible essences of energy to utilize for transformation.

Gemini: The Balancing of Twin Energies

We are still experiencing the emergent energy of Spring as time marches through the Zodiac, but as we shared in Taurus, the push-pull of forward movement vs. relaxation and reflection is still present.  

Now, however, in Gemini (May 21 through June 20, 2021) these two sides of emergence are more alike and balanced.  This is the “Journey of the Twins” where we can blend within ourselves the push forward of the Ram (Aries) and the contentment of the Bull (Taurus) to smell the roses. 

In the Tarot, this journey is represented by #6, The Lovers.   The presence of Venus, Goddess of Love and Lovers, began her ascent from the underworld in early May and can be seen in the early morning sky as the Morning Star.  Feel free to lean on her for emergent support, a most loving but affirming way to help balance your emergent energy.
